2000 GUINEAS 1916

The 108th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 3rd May 1916 over the Rowley Mile, was Clarissimus (100/7), a chestnut colt by Radium out of Quintessence, owned by Lord Falmouth. The winner won by 3/4 length in 1 minute 41 secs, with half a length back to the third. A field of 17 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £474,700 in 2017)
